With the so-called "Turku-decisions" in 1989, we laid the groundwork for what has been a successful supplier policy. The concentration of 50% of turnover with four major suppliers, both in electronics and, subsequently in appliances, has created a strong basis of co-operation, increased sales year-by-year and provided us with a series of exclusives products with better margins. We helped to change supplier market shares in Europe, introduced all major suppliers in all Expert countries and were influential in the re-organization of supplier structures at European level and in the way they work with buying groups. In our efforts outside of Europe we have found credibility with suppliers based on the way we work together in Europe.

Today a 50% concentration with four suppliers would be nothing special anymore. Also the level of co-operation we reached at European level is different per supplier and has fluctuated over time.
Our new supplier policy is based on our possibility to contribute to, influence or change the way that our own national organizations, suppliers and markets operate, while leaving aside those aspects we cannot influence. In practice this means that Expert International is concentrating on those suppliers who want a meaningful
co-operation at European level.

This policy brings a more efficient use of our resources, generates income for marketing purposes to support the respective brands and expands our exclusive products base.
